Elle Marja is a fourteen year old Sami girl who breeds reindeers in the 1930s. But at her school she suffers from racism and even has to endure a race biology examination. This all leads her to start dreaming of another life. Yet in order for this life to become a reality, she has to become someone else and break all ties with her family and culture.

The film won two awards in Venice, for best debut feature in the Venice Days sidebar and the Label Europa Cinemas award.
