Everyone was gob-smacked when they reunited in 2005. Even more so when they opted to stay together, as they have for 11 years now. It's enough to make a man take a long, thoughtful slug of maple-flavored bourbon and count some lucky stars. And now they‘re on their way to Iceland to turn their amps to 12, and play their old and new hits until Harpa‘s roof vibrates to pieces!

Oyama will open for Dino! Oyama is a 5 piece from Reykjavík that plays dreamy noise rock inspired by the 90s. Formed in 2012, Oyama self-released their first EP, I Wanna, in 2013, and their first full-length album, Coolboy, was released by 12 Tónar in 2014. Oyama have toured Europe and Japan, and received considerable praise for their live performances as well as their releases. Their latest single, Handsome Devil, came out this spring and reached 17th place on Billboard’s viral Spotify top 50. Oyama are currently working on more material for their second full length album.

Dinosaur Jr. is one of the most influential alternative rock bands of the 90’s. The band was first formed in 1984 bringing a fresh puff of air into USA’s rock scene. The members say they are inspired by many artists, including Rolling Stones, Beach Boys, Nick Cave, The Ramones and Motörhead. Gerald Cosloy (Homestead Records) described their sound as “its own bizarre hybrid. ... It wasn't exactly pop, it wasn't exactly punk rock—it was completely its own thing”.

Let's face facts -- in 2016 it is remarkable that there's a new Dinosaur Jr. album to go ape over. With all the insanity that is stalking the Earth in 2016, it's nice to have something to rely on. Who'd've dared to think it'd be Dinosaur Jr.? After all, the original line-up of the band (J Mascis, Lou Barlow & Murph) only recorded 3 full lengths before the band went through some changes. Now, with the release of Give a Glimpse, this trio has released more albums in the 21st Century than they did in the 20th. The album has received great reviews and holds a 80/100 average on Metacritic!

After reuniting Dinosaur Jr. is now known for their amazing live shows! Dinosaur Jr. played to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their eponymous debut LP; a very fine nostalgia fest – and now they‘re finally here! So you have to be pretty damn chuffed that the band has managed to pull another magnificent rabbit out of their collective hat, now we get to see it with our own eyes in Silfurberg, Harpa, on July 22nd. Only 1.200 tickets are available so we encourage all fans to think fast!
