<p>MIMRA invites you to a grand release concert in Bæjarbíó on November 8th, where she celebrates the new album, Sinking Island, with a full band on stage. MIMRA’s music is described as alternative folk, sincere and carefully sculpted. MIMRA blends the sonic worlds of electronic and orchestral pop in her music and will in this concert perform the album with a 12 piece band.</p>

<p>MIMRA is the musical guise of composer and singer María Magnúsdóttir. Sinking Island has been some time in the making. MIMRA wrote the music during her time living in The Netherlands and England. She self-recorded, produced and mixed the album. The album release was successfully funded this summer through Karolina Fund. Official release date is October 9th and the album will be accessible through all major streaming services, as well as available on CD and vinyl. </p>

<p>The band consists of María Magnúsdóttir on vocals and keys, Börkur Hrafn Birgisson on guitar, Þorvaldur Þór Þorvaldsson on drums and Róbert Þórhallsson on bass along with a string quartet and horn section. </p>
