Hreimur the all-male choir was founded in 1975 in Þingeyjarsýsla, and from the start it has been one of the biggest choirs in the county. Today it has 60 active members. The choir conductor is Steinþór Þráinsson and the pianist is Steinunn Halldórsdóttir.

Hreimur has released many records over the years and gone abroad on tour nine times. Where they sang in churches, concert halls and out on the streets. They have also traveled around Iceland with solo concerts and joint concert with other choirs. 

Hreimur has from the beginning had Ýdalir in Þingeyjarsveit as their headquarters, where they throw an annual spring concert, inviting new celebrities to perform with them each year.

The latest Gissur Páll Gissurarson and Margrét Eir who will join them again for this big concert, the choir first concert in Eldborg, Harpa.

Along with Gissur and Margrét solo singers from the choir will be Ásgeir Böðvarsson and Sigurður Ágúst Þórarinsson. Joining all of them on stage will be a band of three, Borgar Þórarinsson, Pétur Ingólfsson and Gunnar Illugi Sigurðsson.

Hreimur’s repertoire is diverse, it varies from traditional choir music to pop songs. The program for this concert will be no different. Including music from Vestmannaeyjar, chipper songs all Icelanders are familiar with.

This concert is a cannot be missed event for all music lovers.
