A new vocal Latin project for a ten piece orchestra by bassist/composer Tómas R. Einarsson, which has released several Latin jazz records with his music. His last Latin CD, Bassanótt (Bass Night) was recently reviewed in All About Jazz: “This is top-drawer Latin jazz for an unlikely place, making it all the better.” (AAJ 6/1 2016). A stellar cast of Icelandic musicians has been assambled for this project: the lead vocalist is Sigríður Thorlacius (Female singer of the year 2013, Icelandic Music Awards), but veteran singer & percussionist Bogomil Font also performs a couple of tunes. Other musicians are baritone sax player Rósa Guðrún Sveinsdóttir who also leads the chorus vocals, Ómar Guðjónsson - guitar, Davíð Þór Jónsson - piano, Snorri Sigurðarson - trumpet, Samúel Jón Samúelsson - güiro and trombone, Sigtryggur Baldursson - congas, Kristófer Rodríguez Svönuson - bongos and Einar V.
